The Major Arcana Tarot Card allocated to the sign of Sagittarius is The Temperence card. The general meaning of this card is alchemy, tempering, refinement, calculation and the reconciliation of opposites, testing and ordeals that strengthen.
The Minor Arcana Cards of the Eight, Nine and Ten of Wands have less obvious connections to the sign of Sagittarius. However Sagittarius is a fire sign, which aligns it with the Suit of Wands, the Fire suit. When a Decan Wheel is consulted (see image below), the first Decan of Sagittarius is found to correspond to the Eight of Wands, (Movement & Messages, or The Lord of Swiftness.) The second Decan corresponds to the Nine (Rallying the Will, or The Lord of Great Strength), and the third Decan to the Ten (Burden, or Lord of Oppression).
